Teresa Turikan is a Taiwanese-Australian artist based in Paris. Working across painting, digital media, and ritual experience, her practice explores cultural transmission: what survives when language disappears, and how meaning moves between people through form, gesture, and memory.
Her first major body of work, Lost Totems, is derived from deconstructed traditional Chinese characters, rebuilt as abstract totems that function as symbolic containers of memory. Developed since 2019 at the intersection of abstraction, cultural heritage, and embodied practice, the work will be presented in its first solo exhibition in Paris, Summer 2026, with a curatorial text by Isabella Boorman.
